I have to admit, I didn’t finish this book. The material is excellent; however it reads too much like a textbook to hold my interest. I read more than half of it, and the historical and cultural information in the book is tremendous. I enjoy the way the author shows the different views and the pros and cons of each view. The only negative I found as I read was the fact that it reads much more like a textbook than a book for a layperson. If you are interested in how the Bible relates to history and the ways that the early church determined whether or not the text was accurate this book is right up your alley.
