Continuing with the theme of a mature faith, Paul says to remember that not everyone is on the same spot in their faith walk. He also reminds us that on the other extreme, some want to apply this principle to everything, not just disputable matters.
What we eat, the days we celebrate, the means of our baptism, these things don’t matter. The Big Ten are indisputable, the way to the Father through Christ is indisputable. In my own life, I wonder . . . I don’t drink because it might cause someone else to sin, not because alcohol is inherently evil. So why don’t I do the same thing with food in regards to gluttony?
Everything that does not come from faith is sin. Causes me to think about TV, food and games. I must always ask myself, What do I approve that may condemn me.
